White Microelectronics
Many of White Electronic Designs' designs find their way to the wild blue yonder in the service of the red, white, and blue. A division of Microsemi, White's microelectronics segment produces memory and microprocessor modules designed to withstand adverse conditions in aerospace, military, and telecommunications applications. In 2009 the company sold its Display Systems Division to VIA optronics GmbH as part of a strategic realignment. White Electronic Designs was formed in the merger of Bowmar Instrument (White Microelectronics) and Electronic Designs. The company was acquired for $100 million by Microsemi in 2010.
